Asian Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Drop Sharply in Thursday Trading

-- Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were sharply lower Thursday morning, falling 1.88% to 2,715.43 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.

From North Asia, the gainers were led by mobile app developer Cheetah Mobile (CMCM) and education company 17 Education & Technology Group (YQ), which rose 4.1% and 2.8% respectively. They were followed by travel company Tuniu (TOUR) and brand platform 36Kr (KRKR), which were up 2.6% and 1.9% respectively.

The decliners from North Asia were led by fashion platform MOGU (MOGU) and fintech firm Jiayin Group (JFIN), which fell 5.6% and 5.1% respectively. They were followed by video display maker LG Display (LPL) and tech company Baidu (BIDU), which were down 3.7% and 3.5% respectively.

From South Asia, the lone gainer was IT firm Sify Technologies (SIFY), which edged 0.2% higher.

The decliners from South Asia were led by IT firm Infosys (INFY) and tech conglomerate Sea (SE), which dropped 2.3% and 2.2% respectively. They were followed by lender HDFC Bank (HDB) and IT firm Wipro (WIT), which lost 1.5% and 1% respectively.

Greatview Aseptic Packaging (HKG:0468) booked 52.7 million yuan in attributable profit for 2025, down 81% from 270.2 million yuan in 2024, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing Tuesday.Shares of the firm remained suspended from trading.Earnings per share were 0.04 yuan, compared with 0.19 yuan in the prior year.Revenue fell 17% year on year to 1.86 billion yuan, figures showed.The firm proposed a final dividend of HK$0.006 per share for the year, payable Aug. 6 to shareholders of record on July 7.

Samsung Electronics Launches Induction Cooktop with Built-in Hood

Samsung Electronics (KRX:005930) unveiled a hood-integrated induction cooktop under its Infinite premium appliance line, the electronics products maker said in a Wednesday release.The product comes with a centrally built-in hood that removes smoke and odors from below, along with a heat output of up to 7,400W across all burners.It comes in Satin Black and is priced at 4.79 million won, the release said.Shares of Samsung Electronics fell nearly 1% in recent trade.
