These employees want AI to benefit humanity and not to be used in autonomous weapons and mass surveillance, according to the media outlet.
The letter was co-ordinated by staff at Google's AI lab DeepMind, people familiar with the matter told the Financial Times.
Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment from.
