Wuhan Changjin Photonics Tech Launches Shanghai IPO

-- Wuhan Changjin Photonics Technology (SHA:688635) launched its initial public offering on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, according to a Friday bourse filing.

The electronic components manufacturer will offer up to 23.4 million shares, accounting for 25% of its total share capital.

The expected issuance date is on May 18. Guotai Haitong Securities will serve as the lead underwriter.

Wuhan Changjin will have 93.7 million shares in issue following the IPO.

Japan's Real Wages in March Rise 1%

Japan's real wages in March edged up 1% from the same month a year earlier, resuming the upward trend over the past two months, according to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare on Friday.The growth of real wages is considered essential for Japan to fully recover from its prolonged battle against deflation.Nominal wages, the average total monthly cash earnings per worker, including base, grew 1.6%, according to the government data. Overtime pay also gained 1.9%.

ASX Midday Sector Update: Financials Stocks Lead Broad Market Declines

All sectors on the Australian Securities Exchange were in the red in midday trading on Friday, with financial stocks falling past 2% to lead decliners, as oil prices climbed after reports of clashes between the US and Iran in and around the Strait of Hormuz.Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX:CBA) and Westpac Banking (ASX:WBC) both shed more than 2%, while National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) was nearly 3% lower. Shares of Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) were down more than 2% after earlier hitting a record high following its fiscal year 2026 results.
