Green Thumb Industries' Board Authorizes Additional US$100M for Share Repurchase Program

Green Thumb Industries' (GTII.CN), a national cannabis consumer packaged goods company that saw its shares rise 11% yesterday, authorized an additional US$100 million for its existing share buy-back program announced on September 16, 2025, it said Thursday.The buy-back program now authorizes the repurchase of its subordinate voting shares having an aggregate value of up to $150 million, it added.Approximately 7.5 million shares for approximately $43.4 million have been repurchased since the program began on September 23, 2025, GTII said. Of that total, approximately 6.0 million shares for approximately $33.0 million were repurchased in the first quarter of 2026, it added."We have built a strong business, and we do not believe our current share price fully reflects that value. We have demonstrated our conviction in Green Thumb through meaningful share repurchases, and this added capacity gives us greater flexibility to continue deploying capital opportunistically," said Green Thumb Founder, Chairman and CEO Ben Kovler.The existing repurchase program will expire on September 22, 2026.Shares closed up 11% to $10.81 on Wednesday on the Canadian Securities Exchange.

Oil Edges Higher as the Prospect for a Peace Deal in the Iran War Stalls

Oil edged higher early on Thursday with the United States and Iran making little progress to end a war that has produced the largest-ever supply shock with shipments from the Persian Gulf region barred from the Strait of Hormuz.West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil for June delivery was last seen up US$0.33 to US$93.29 per barrel, while June Brent oil was up US$0.50 to US$102.41.The United States and Iran remain at an impasse, with Iran refusing to negotiate as long as the U.S. Navy continues to blockade its ports, while the U.S. refuses to lift the blockade. Iran is attacking ships in the Strait of Hormuz, the chokepoint for 20% of the world's daily oil demand supplied by Persian Gulf nations, while reports say U.S. forces are boarding Iranian ships in the Indian Ocean."The Iranian leadership had made the lifting of the US blockade a precondition for the resumption of negotiations, with a senior official calling it an act of military aggression. President Trump for his part has indicated that the ceasefire will remain in place for now, leaving the conflict in a no airstrike, minimal movement of ships, unsustainable equilibrium," Helima Croft, Head of Global Commodity Strategy and MENA Research wrote.WTI oil is up 37% since the Feb. 28 start to the war, but has retreated below the four-year high of US$112.95 touched on April 7 on hopes for a coming end to the conflict. However should traders expect the current impasse between the two sides to stretch out, prices could retests that four-year high."Trump has been touting that a deal with Iran is imminent through most of April. But a deal now looks increasingly elusive. Poly market bets in the US for when the SoH (Strait of Hormuz) will reopen have declined sharply over the past week. Bets on a reopening by 13 May has declined 27% since last Friday to now only 39%. Expectations for when the SoH will reopen is sliding rapidly into the future. That implies a higher oil price," said Bjarne Schieldrop, chief analyst commodities at SEB Research wrote.

IsoEnergy Continues Drill Testing at Flatiron, Targets Growth Near Tony M Mine; Provides Bulk Sample Update

IsoEnergy (NYSE American: ISOU and ISO.TO) continues its U.S. exploration program, focused on advancing its uranium projects in southeast Utah, the company said Thursday.The 2026 program will include the completion of seven additional surface rotary drill holes with core tails, totaling 11,000 feet on the Flatiron Project, located in the Henry Mountains uranium district, approximately seven miles northwest of the company's past-producing Tony M uranium mine, IsoEnergy said in a statement. Drill mobilization to the project is complete and drilling is expected to begin shortly, it added.This program builds on three drill holes completed late in 2025 and represents the next phase of systematic drilling at Flatiron, targeting follow-up of historical regional exploration conducted by Plateau Resources in the early 1980s. IsoEnergy staked the 370 lode claims that comprise the project in 2024, later adding two Utah state leases to bring the total land position to 8,800 total acres. The project is one of the largest contiguous land positions in the historical Henry Mountain District, where approximately 1.4 million lbs of U3O8 has been produced to date, Thursday's statement noted.The mining component of the bulk sample at the Tony M Mine, announced on Jan. 7, 2026, has been completed, IsoEnergy said. Working with Gen X Mining Contractors, near 2,100 tons of mineralized material were mined without any injuries or lost time and the material is safely stored at Tony M., it added.Philip Williams, CEO and Director, said: "Restarting drilling at Flatiron and the completion of the Tony M Bulk Sample represent two important components of IsoEnergy's U.S. strategy.
